THE EFFECT OF NPK FERTILIZER AND ORGANIC MANURE ON GROWTH PARAMETERS OF ZEA MAYS

Potassium, sodium and calcium as a macro nutrient governs important mechanism and physiological strength that ensure optimum plant growth and produce quality. This study aims at the effect of NPK fertilizer and organic manure on the growth corn under high nitrogen (N) nutrition with optimum and reduced irrigation. Organic manure (OM) was applied as source of sodium and calcium while NPK fertilizer was applied as a source of potassium and nitrogen also with viable corns, good environmental conditions, new tape rule and farm tools. With tape rules, we were able to measure the girth, breath, length of the corn and the leaves as the corn growing.
The result showed that growth and yield attributes of maize were substantially influenced by organic and inorganic sources of nutrients, maximum leaf area index, length and width of the maize were also an evidence. Conclusively, application of NPK fertilizer and manure had a great positive effect on the length, breadth, and number of leaves, growth parameters of the corn. This study is helpful to farmers by educating and advocating the effect of organic manure and inorganic fertilizer as yardstick to our agricultural practice for better growth and yield of products.
